Aldo A. Ramírez is a committed advocate for multilingual education, arts education, health and wellness for families, students, and staff, and college and career readiness for all students, with a strong commitment and focus on unduplicated children. He is the proud father of two children who received the Seal of Biliteracy and are currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in the arts, areas that they are passionate about. He is the proud husband of an amazing wife who supports him in advancing the educational outcomes of unduplicated students and their families.
Deanna Flores
Chief Culture Officer of In Lak’Ech
As the Chief Culture Officer of In Lak’Ech of Voices College-Bound Language Academies, Ms. Flores is responsible for Network-wide Staff, Student and Parent/Guardian Culture and ensures consistency and alignment of Network Mission, Vision and Core Values. This includes oversight of Network-wide Character Education Professional Development. Ms. Flores also oversees behavior management for the general student population across the Network and is responsible for behavior management training, coaching and guidance to school-based Deans of Cultures and Parent Liaisons. In addition, Ms Flores oversees the Development and Communication Team as well as the Talent Team.
Jaime Mata
Chief Operations Officer
Dr. Jaime Adrian Mata is an experienced educational leader with an MBA from Pepperdine University and an M.Ed. in Educational Business Administration from the American College of Education, as well as a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Educational Administration and Leadership. With 20 years of leadership experience, he has held significant roles including Chief Business Official and Interim Vice President of Administrative Services at Gavilan College, and he currently serves as Chief Operations Officer at Voices College-Bound Language Academies. His expertise lies in strategic planning, financial management, and operational excellence, particularly in managing educational business administration and ensuring compliance with complex regulations. Dr. Mata is certified in PROSCI Change Management and as a Chief Business Official through the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO). His bilingualism has been instrumental in effectively connecting with and advocating for diverse communities throughout his career, and he now also serves as a FOX National Fellow, further underscoring his commitment to educational leadership and innovation.
Ellyn Magaña
Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer
Ellyn came to Voices because of her passion for dual language education. Ellyn started her career teaching in East Side San José, while earning her master’s degree in Urban Education: Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University. She went on to be a founding teacher at KIPP Heritage Academy and then to found the English Language Development program at Alpha Public Schools. In her most recent role at Aspire Public Schools, Ellyn supported the strategic planning for and implementation of Multilingual learning programming. With over a decade of experience at different networks of charter schools in California, she has developed a passion for ensuring schools are driving towards equitable results through the use of technology, systems, and data-driven decision making. She’s most excited about learning all the ways in which Voices teammates are pushing towards incredible results using innovative thinking!
